Shoplifters assault security guard during Macy's robbery

Editor's note: Tyler Cane Nelson, 18, turned himself in on April 28. His next court date is May 2. The female suspect is still unidentified and wanted by police.

BROOMFIELD – Police are searching for two shoplifters who assaulted a Macy's loss prevention employee Tuesday.

At 1:54 p.m., a man and a woman went into the Macy's at 11 W. Flatiron Crossing Drive. They were observed by a loss prevention employee taking merchandise.

When the loss prevention employees observed the merchandise being taken, the employees confronted the suspects. One of the employees was assaulted by the male suspect and fled the store in and older morel four-door red BMW.

Man is described as white, 20 to 25 years of age, approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds. He has numerous tattoos covering both of his arms, one tattoo on the left side of his neck and possibly one on the right side of his neck. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt .

The woman is described as white, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, weighing about 140 pounds and appears to be slightly shorter than the male suspect. She has dark hair worn up off her neck and was wearing a polka-dot dress/shorts and white sandals.

The suspects left together in an older model four door red BMW.
