Suspect in chase across Aurora fired shots along the way

AURORA - Police say a suspect who led officers on a chase across Aurora fired shots from his vehicle along the way.

Officers from Aurora and Denver arrested James Anthony Draper at Colfax and Yosemite just after 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Aurora Police say Draper stole a car and first fired shots at Exposition and Havana.

He's then accused of pointing his gun at officers near 1st and Havana.

In all, police have four scenes to process where they say shots were fired.

Investigators praised officers for using restraint.

They say officers managed to get Draper in custody without using weapons and no one was injured.

Draper is a person of interest in a homicide on Memphis Street in Aurora on Saturday.

It's believed he has felony warrants out of Denver.
