Suspect removes ankle monitor, is now on the run

ADAMS COUNTY - Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man they say took off his ankle monitor while he was out on bond and awaiting trial for charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, dangerous drugs and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

The man, Manuel Joseph Romero, was wearing the monitor as a condition of his bond and part of the supervised released program stemming from an incident in Northglenn.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office sent the notification that Romero was on the run on Friday afternoon. They say they’ve issued a warrant for his arrest.

He is described as a 33-year-old Hispanic man who is 5’7” and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 303-288-1535.
