WESTMINSTER - A man accused a fleeing the scene of a home robbery was shot and killed by officers after displaying a weapon Tuesday afternoon in Westminster. Three other suspects involved in the robbery are still at-large.
Officers were called to a reported robbery in the 12100 block of Bannock Street at about 3:30 p.m.
The homeowner told police he found four people, three men and a woman with pink hair, stealing items from his garage. When the victim confronted the intruders, he was punched in the face and threatened with a gun.
The victim told police the suspect who had pointed the gun at him left the scene riding a motorcycle. The other three suspects are believed to have fled in a silver Chevy Malibu with no license plates.
Officers chased the suspect on the motorcycle to the 12100 block of Huron Street where the suspect crashed and began to flee the scene on foot.
Police continued to chase the suspect, and when they attempted to take him into custody, the suspect displayed a weapon.
Two Westminster Police officers fired their guns, striking the suspect.
The suspect was given medical attention, but was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The victim in the home robbery sustained minor injuries. No officers were injured.
