JEFFERSON COUNTY - Deputies have released a sketch of a man they say tried to abduct a 14-year-old who was walking to her school bus stop.

The victim was walking near the 5300 block of Sheridan on Sept. 30 when she says a man started following her in an SUV.

The suspect stopped, got out and told her to get into his car. When she didn't, he tried to push her inside. She ran and the school bus driver reported what happened.

The man is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches tall, with glasses and medium length dark, spiky and tousled hair.

He was wearing a gray short-sleeved T-shirt and gray jeans and drove a mid-size silver SUV, possibly a Honda or Chevy. The vehicle was muddy and did not have license plates.

Anyone with information is urged to call 303-271-5612, or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
