KUSA - The Westminster man accused of killing an old high school classmate made his first court appearance Monday morning for his first advisement of his charges.
Christopher Adam Waide was arrested Thursday in connection with the June 5 disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter. He faces charges of first-degree murder and sexual assault. He will be formally charged on Friday.
Lea Porter, 19, is from Pueblo and was last seen June 5 while visiting Waide in Westminster.
Police say they are still searching for her body, and Waide has provided a few possible locations.
Porter's parents say Waide offered some sort of confession on Thursday evening.
"He said that he stabbed her, strangled her and put her in a trash bag and put her in a Dumpster," Porter's stepfather Michael Jackson said after the court appearance on Monday.
During the court appearance on Monday, Waide calmly sat in the courtroom and was silent.
