Woman still sought in Lakewood tip jar theft

KUSA - Police are still looking for the woman who walked into a Lakewood Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop and stole a tip jar full of cash.

It happened a few weeks ago at the store inside Colorado Mills Mall. Video surveillance shows the woman helping herself to the tip jar and dropping it right into her purse.

Before she grabs the jar, she is seen walking around attempting to be inconspicuous.

No one in the shop noticed her do it. But the surveillance camera provided a close-up shot of the action.

The video shows here there with a man who also appears to be in on it.

Stefan Lapinski, the assistant manager at the Haagen-Dazs at Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood said the couple didn't even buy anything.

"It's just really upsetting. We get paid not too much and we work hard for those tips," Lapinski said. "It's disappointing overall that someone would do it, especially adults. But I guess that's the kind of world we live in."

It happened a few weeks ago on a Saturday. Anyone with information should contact Lakewood police.
