DeMarcus Ware says surgery 'was a success'

DENVER - Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware posted an update on Facebook saying his surgery, which was needed Tuesday after fracturing his arm, "was a success."

Ware fractured his right ulna, one of the long bones that extends from the elbow to wrist, in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The surgery was to insert a plate on the ulna to help the healing process.

In a locker room interview, Ware told 9NEWS he got the injury after hitting Von Miller's helmet during a sack on Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

In the Facebook post, Ware says "Thanks for the prayers. Surgery was a success. That's the easy part, now the hard part begins. #Broncos #94."

Ware should return in four to five weeks.
