The University Hills Optimist Club didn't have enough volunteers to help students with their reading, until other students at the school stepped up to the plate.

"Me and my brother and my cousin, we all speak Russian," one student explained, going on to say, "It's like I'm their role model for them in helping them speak English."

The students help their fellow students understand words and sentence structure. The junior optimists help out every Friday morning, just before school starts.
