Aurora school on lockdown after possible robbery

AURORA - An Aurora middle school was put on lockdown Wednesday after a report of a fight and an armed robbery nearby.

Police said Columbia Middle School at 17600 E. Columbia Ave. was placed on lockdown around 12:30 p.m.

Aurora Police got a report that two men were fighting near the school on South Tower Road, and one of them was armed. Police later got a report of someone at the Movie Tavern saying they had been robbed outside the theater by someone with a gun.

Police saw two suspects matching the description and apprehended them. Police are working to determine if was an armed robbery or a fight.
