DENVER - There were more student walkouts across the country Monday in protest of the election results.

Students from two schools in northwest Denver walked out Monday and headed for the state capitol. They returned to class at DSST: Byers and STRIVE Prep - Excel after the morning walkouts.

Denver Public Schools says they worked with Denver Police to make sure the students walk safely and use the opportunity to learn about civic engagement.

Other student groups have also protested the outcome of the presidential election.

Several nights last week, people gathered in downtown Denver to also protest.
