Here's how much money CU, other schools get from Nike, Adidas, Under Armour

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - When Florida State athletes arrived on campus in 1998, they received $144,750 in free Nike footwear and apparel. This year, a vault of $2.8 million in Nike gear awaited players arriving in Tallahassee. That's in addition to the $1.4 million in cash Nike will pay this year for the right to outfit the university's athletes.

Florida State isn't the only school cashing in on the booming market for collegiate apparel deals.

Nike, Adidas and Under Armour will pump more than $300 million into university athletic departments this year, including the University of Colorado, according to a Portland Business Journal investigation, a roughly 33 percent increase in five years.
