Philanthropist donates $2 million to CU Boulder music college

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The University of Colorado Boulder will rename its keyboard and piano program in honor of philanthropist Becky Roser, who donated $2 million to establish an endowment for the College of Music.

Roser, a CU Boulder alumna and longtime supporter of the music program, said she wanted to contribute to the college's "music+ campaign," a $50 million fundraising push to support music education that was launched in February. Roser currently chairs the music+ campaign committee.

"An endowment goes on forever, and now more than ever, it’s important to have done this," Roser said.

Roser is a former director of speech and hearing services at Mercy Medical Center in Denver and then was clinical supervisor and director of clinical services at what is now the CU Boulder Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from 1978 to 1988.
