Colorado State University is the 129th ranked university in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Reports, and climbs to No. 61 when only public universities are included in the ranking.
It has climbed six spots since 2012 among public universities, according to a CSU release.
CSU's in-state rival, the University of Colorado-Boulder, topped it in each ranking, however: The school to the south ranked No. 92 nationally and No. 38 among public universities. Princeton University was ranked No. 1 overall nationally and the University of California-Berkley was the No. 1 public school, according to the ranking.
U.S. News and World Reports ranks 310 universities, 189 of which are public.
