School supply donations being handed out

WHEAT RIDGE - If you have students in Douglas County, you're getting ready for school. Classes start for modified schedule students Monday morning. The rest of Douglas County's schools start Aug. 11.

On Tuesday, classes begin for most Aurora students in grades six through 12. Most elementary schools there start Thursday. Preschool and kindergarten starts Aug. 12.

Since schools are starting, the Action Center is hosting its annual school supply distribution. The distribution will help 5,200 students receive the supplies needed to be successful at school

Supplies can be picked up Monday through Saturday at Wheat Ridge Middle School at 7101 W. 38th Ave.

If you'd like to donate school supplies, The Action Center is still accepting donations. Those can be dropped off at the Action Center on West 14th Avenue in Lakewood.
