DENVER - The Democratic National Convention is just weeks away, and although many Republicans aren't all that interested, many Democrats can hardly wait.

Hotels are expected to be booked solid, which means visitors waiting until the last minute may struggle to find an affordable place to stay.

Marilyn Hunt is passionate about her politics. Having the Democratic National Convention in Denver is a dream come true and she wants to share it with others.

"I want to make money for the campaign. I'll get to hang out and bash Republicans," she said.

Using the Web site airbedandbreakfast.com, Hunt has decided to rent out the top floor of her house. She is asking for $150 a night with a three-night minimum.

Brian Chesky is co-founder of the site.

"People coming to Denver will stay with hosts in Denver and they'll be able to take them around. If they're Obama supporters they can go to the events with them. Or just recommend a good local place to go for coffee," said Chesky.

For as little as $10 a night for an airbed or a couch, people can find a place to lay their heads. Or they can spend $3,000 for an entire house.

Chesky says you can find a place as close to the DNC as you need.

Jennifer Stathis' apartment is located a few miles from the convention. With a baby on the way, she says she's looking to make some extra cash democratically.

"We're opening up our place for up to two weeks for $300 a night for the DNC week. If hotels are all booked up and you're looking for an alternative, this is just a great way to do that and it seems more secure than a back-and-forth transaction," Stathis said.

All it takes is four easy steps on the Web site and you're done, picture posted, profile up, place located on a map.

If someone books a bed at your house, the site will take a couple of dollars for the booking.

Hunt says it's a small price to pay for big possibilities.

"I honestly believe to bring change about - it have to be grass roots, and this is my personal effort," said Hunt.

Hunt says she will donate the money she raises to Sen. Barack Obama's campaign.

Roughly 360 Coloradans have listed their homes on airbedandbreakfast.com.
