Boulder working to fix cloudy water

BOULDER - Boulder crews worked throughout the night to flush the city’s water lines after cloudiness was reported on Monday.

If you live in Boulder, the city says to check your tap water. If it’s cloudy, run cold water until it clears. If that doesn’t help, call the city’s utilities division at 303-441-3249.

In the meantime, Boulder asks residents not to use tap water until it is clear.

The city says sentiment stirred up at the bottom of a water storage tank due to construction is to blame for the cloudiness. The white color is the result of a calcium additive that is added to adjust the pH of the water after the treatment process that sinks to the bottom of the tank at the Betasso Water Treatment facility when it’s being stored.
