DORA holding community meeting on opioid use

KUSA - A 2014 study found that 870 Coloradans died from drug overdoses in 2014 – a number that’s more than doubled since 2000.

It’s an epidemic that public health authorities want to stop.

That’s why DORA’s Division of Professions and Occupations is hosting a community meeting in Denver Tuesday. The meeting will involve healthcare professionals, patient family members, behavior health specialists, substance abuse treatment providers and members of the public.

They’ll talk about the policies involved with prescribing opioids. It’s the third forum in recent months.

The forum will last from 10 a.m. to noon at 1560 Broadway, Suite 1900. For a look at the current Policy for Prescribing and Dispensing Opioids, go to: http://bit.ly/2g1IM27
