Here are the best places in the U.S. to buy a winter vacation home

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - When the air starts to grow crisp and snow starts to fall, many people pick up and move to a vacation home to wait out the winter.

And if you're lucky enough to be in that market, where should you invest in a home?

RewardExpert, a New York-based credit card rewards company, ranked the best places to invest in a winter vacation home across six U.S. regions:

Northeast.
South Atlantic.
Midwest.
South Central.
Mountain West.
Pacific West.

In the mountain west region, Durango (in La Plata County) was first in Colorado and third overall, followed by Glenwood Springs (in Garfield County) and Grand County, respectively.
