Blame Podcast Episode 2: Nobody investigated it

KUSA - BLAME EPISODE 2: NOBODY INVESTIGATED IT – An unintelligible start to a 911 call marked the beginning of the short and incomplete investigation into the death of Jill Wells.

There are very few official records created in the case. A two-page police report. Crime scene photographs. Several recordings, including the only two interviews with the only witnesses to the crime, Mike Wells and his son Tanner, the 6-year-old boy blamed for accidentally shooting his mother.

The recorded interview of Mike Wells lasted less than a minute. The recorded interview with Tanner took place while he sat alongside his father and lasted one minute and 31 seconds.

But others who responded to the scene – emergency medical technicians, firefighters and victim’s advocates – all have carried something with them all these years that wasn’t recorded in those scant official records.
