1 injured in hit-and-run, assault

DENVER - Denver Police are investigating a hit-and-run and aggravated assault case in Denver on Friday morning.

According to DPD, the auto-pedestrian accident happened in the 3400 block of West Virginia Avenue.

Police say the car drove onto the curb in that area and hit a lady in her front yard.

The woman's leg injury was serious, so she was taken to the hospital.

Police say there was some sort of altercation between her and the driver before the driver took off.


Police are looking for a silver, 2004 Jeep Liberty with the Colorado license plate of 416-ZMR.

In a related incident, a person came out of the lady's home at the time of the wreck. He was a wanted man, so police arrested him for outstanding warrants. It is unknown at this time if he was injured during the incident.
