DENVER - Authorities have issued a warrant for a man they say is accused of robbing a Target and a Walmart where pepper spray was used to thwart security guards.

Denver Police are looking for 27-year-old Richard Slate. They say Slate, along with two others, are suspect of stealing merchandise from a Walmart on Jan. 8 and a Target in Sheridan on Jan. 10. As the suspects were leaving the stores, officers say they pepper-sprayed the security guards.

Officers say Slate is still believed to be in the metro area and is described as a white man between 6 feet 5 inches tall and 6 feet 7 inches tall with brown hair, hazel eyes and tattoos on both his right and left shoulders.

He was last seen driving a 2010 maroon or red Kia Sedan with Florida license plate No. Z7AJZ.

Another suspect was arrested by Denver Police on Friday. Officers took 28-year-old Brittany Burton-Zamora into custody after Sheridan Police identified her. Police say while Burton-Zamora and another man were running out of the Super Target at Riverfront, another suspect sprayed pepper spray at security guards who were chasing them.

The Denver Police Department is asking for the community's assistance to locate this suspect. Anyone with information regarding this crime please contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can text to CRIMES (274637) then title DMCS and enter your message.
