JEFFERSON COUNTY - A Jefferson County jury has found the former operator of a rabbit farm in Arvada guilty of multiple counts of animal cruelty.

Debe Bell, 59, operated Six Bells Farm where authorities last summer found rabbits in conditions described as "deplorable."

Nearly 200 rabbits were removed from the property, and Bell was charged with 55 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

The jury found Bell guilty of 35 counts.

Each carries a potential sentence of up to 18 months in jail.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 20.
