DENVER - Police say the community helped them arrest two people they say committed several robberies since the first of the year.
On Wednesday, Denver Police arrested a man they believe is the "Pot Belly Bandit." Wayman Paul Harrington, 24, is accused of committing at least four robberies in the Denver area between Jan. 26 and Jan. 30. Police arrested him after getting a tip from Crime Stoppers. His photo was not released so investigators can complete photo lineups.
Police also arrested the person they believe is the "Pretty in Pink Bandit." Police arrested Dustin Sharon, 25, on Tuesday. He was given the nickname because the suspect wore a pink bandana and goggles during the robberies. They believe he committed at least seven robberies from Jan. 12 to Jan. 30.
Police say robberies in Denver are up by 18 percent and the majority are being done by pattern offenders.
