WESTMINSTER - Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with an armed carjacking and an attempted carjacking in Westminster.
Around 3 p.m. Westminster Police responded to an attempted carjacking in the 10400 block of Federal Boulevard. Officers in the area and were able to contact two people who matched the description of the suspects provided by the victim. Both were taken into custody. A gun, believed to be used in the attempted carjacking, was also recovered.
A 2002 tan Toyota Avalon that was taken earlier Wednesday was also recovered in the area. Police say it was taken during an armed carjacking in the 9300 block of Sheridan Boulevard around 10: 20 a.m.
Investigators believe the suspects are connected to both incidents and a recovered stolen vehicle in the 10500 block of Sheridan Boulevard. Detectives are working with witnesses and victims in all three crimes to determine if they are related.
