KUSA - An Adams County Sheriff's Office K9 has some new body armor.
Bayou just received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization "Vested Interest in K9s, Inc."
The Adams County Sheriff's Office posted a photo to Facebook showing Bayou modeling the new vest.
Jennifer Rose of Littleton, CO sponsored Bayou's vest.
It is embroidered with the sentiment "Sworn to Protect, Honored to Serve."
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity located in East Taunton, Massachusetts whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests, and other assistance, to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the U.S.
The organization has provided more than 2,300 protective vests to K9 officers across the country since it began in 2009.
