KUSA - Last spring, the Galena fire burned some 1,400 acres west of Fort Collins at Lory State Park and left bridges and trails destroyed.
Since then, the bridges have been repaired but trails are still in need of help.
"It burned out the base layer of the trail," said Mick Syzek, a volunteer with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.
Dozens of volunteers joined him Saturday and Sunday as they staged rocks for retaining walls and rebuilt the trails.
They also seeded and mulched.
