DOUGLAS COUNTY - Investigators believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in a rollover crash that claimed the life of a 19-year-old from Larkspur and left another man injured.
A Douglas County deputy first spotted the wreck just after 2:30 a.m. on Monday. The man in the car – later identified as Mitch Anderson – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three hours later, deputies say they found a 19-year-old man who had been in the vehicle and wandered away from the crash. He was taken to a local hospital, and as of Thursday morning, his condition was unknown.
Investigators determined alcohol was likely a factor in the wreck – prompting two people Anderson was with shortly before the crash to receive minor in possession charges.
