From Lakewood up to Fort Collins, viewers reported seeing an extremely bright light or spark flying through the air, between 6:36 and 6:39 a.m. One viewer described the light as being bright green, with a small trailing tail.

It was not immediately known what the object was.

Calls and e-mails sent to the University of Denver's Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Denver Astronomical Society, and the Fiske Planetarium on the campus of the University of Colorado-Boulder were not immediately returned.

If you have a photo or video of the reported phenomenon, please e-mail desk@9news.com.
