ARAPAHOE COUNTY - The Aurora Police Department is looking for more information on a suspected child sex offender thought of as a grandpa in an area neighborhood.

Philbert G. Pargas, 77, was arrested Nov. 28 on child sexual assault charges after a victim came forward.

As police continued their investigation of Pargas, another victim was identified and additional charges were filed.

Police believe Pargas molested his victims from 1995 to 2007 when he lived near East Mercer Drive and Reservoir Road. Pargas was known as a grandpa figure to the children and often invited them into his home or out for fast food.

"If they went riding by on their bicycle he might call them over. So, he had a lot of interaction with a lot of neighborhood kids. He was a grandpa-type figure in the neighborhood. And evidentially, people trusted him with their kids," said Det. Shannon Lucy with the Aurora Police Department.

Detectives think there may be more victims because of his access to children and the length of time the abuse allegedly occurred.

Anyone with information or concerns is urged to contact Det. Amber Urban at 303-739-6102 or the Aurora Victims Services Unit at 303-739-6087.

Pargas is being held at the Arapahoe County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
