KUSA - The Partnership for Patient Assistance helps uninsured and financially struggling patients who lack prescription coverage get access to prescription assistance programs that offer medicines for free or nearly free.
More than 2,500 brand-name and generic medicines are covered. You could get them free or nearly free.
You can find eligible programs at www.pparx.org. The PPA has dedicated a Web site to make it easier for patients to learn about help available for children, www.kids.pparx.org.
People can call toll free (1-888-4PPA-NOW) to talk with a trained specialist who will guide them through the application process.
The call center accepts calls in English, Spanish and approximately 150 other languages.
PPA helps patients contact government programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. They have more than 40 of the assistance programs focus on the medication and health
care needs of children.
Patients can also get information about free health care clinics in their communities. People with chronic disease can learn about the types of new medicines in development that may help them.
There is only one PPA. There are other companies that offer to connect consumers to these same programs for a fee - some of which use our name without our permission.
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance will help you find the program that's right for you, free of charge. Remember, you will never be asked for money by a PPA Call Center representative, or on this Web site (www.pparx.org).
PPA is sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research companies. These pharmaceutical research companies are working with doctors, pharmacists, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to educate patients about the PPA.
