Police arrest 4 overnight for medical marijuana robbery
|
BOULDER - Four men who police say were involved in a Tuesday robbery of a medical marijuana business were behind bars on Wednesday. ![]() Overnight, Boulder Police arrested 40-year-old David Henderson and 29-year-old Justin St. John of Denver, 21-year-old Walter Carter of Aurora and 22-year-old Lamar McGee of Lakewood. Police say they were all connected to a robbery which occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday when two men walked into the New Options Wellness Center LLC, in the 2800 block of E. Aurora Avenue, and stole two 20-gallon tubs of marijuana. Witnesses gave the license plate number of a black Cadillac Escalade the men drove off in and police stopped the SUV a short time later on Highway 36 at Church Ranch, but didn't immediately arrest the four men inside. The stop caused a major traffic backup on Highway 36. Sarah Huntley of Boulder Police says the four men were taken into custody for questioning and then were arrested overnight. Henderson is facing charges of conspiracy and accessory; St. John is facing conspiracy and forgery charges; Carter is facing counts of robbery and conspiracy; and McGee is facing charges of robbery, conspiracy and second-degree kidnapping, according to police. All four were booked into the Boulder County Jail. Police say the investigation is ongoing and investigators are trying to determine if anyone else was involved.
