DENVER - Snow showers have ended, skies have cleared and temperatures Monday morning are in the teens and 20s.  Yes it's cold, however the bigger concern is the stronger winter storm heading toward Colorado.

9NEWS Meteorologist Becky Ditchfield says the snow showers have ended across the state and clear skies will take over for the rest of the day.  Most of the snow from Sunday's storm system fell over the foothills, with a few locations south of the metro area getting 2 to 4 inches of snow.  Most foothills locations received 3 to 6 inches of snow.  Genesee, however, saw the most with 9.3 inches recorded.

Now that skies have cleared, Becky expects chilly temperatures to continue through the morning Monday.  Temperatures along the Front Range have been in the teens and 20s so far.  However, by the afternoon we'll be back in the lower 50s.

The bigger concern is the stronger cold front moving in from the Pacific Northwest. It should enter the state Tuesday night, into Wednesday morning and could bring significantly more accumulation than Sunday's storm.

The 9NEWS Weather Team will continue to monitor this next storm and as we get within a day or so, we'll be able to make specific snowfall forecasts.
