|
WINTER PARK - Police are investigating a suspicious death after a local man was found unconscious in downtown Wednesday morning. ![]() The Fraser-Winter Park Police Department says the 44-year-old man was found around 7 a.m. on Wanderer's Way by a nearby resident. Emergency workers gave the man CPR and took him to Centura's Granby Medical Center. Police say he was responsive initially, but became unresponsive while being taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead around 8:30 a.m. Authorities say his body temperature had dipped to 72 degrees. Police say they are trying to determine why the man spent the night lying in the cold conditions. They say they believe he either fell, injured himself and passed out; or was assaulted and knocked unconscious. The Grand County Coroner is performing an autopsy. The man's name was not immediately released. Police have not said specifically what kind of injuries the man suffered, but according to a report on SkyHiDailyNews.com, there were evidence markers next to blood spots on the scene. According to police, the victim was last seen in a Winter Park restaurant around midnight Tuesday. Police planned to interview residents of the mobile home park where he was found and restaurant staff. (Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved)
