Master Trooper Ron Watkins says the victims were passengers in an SUV that turned left into the path of a pickup Monday afternoon.

The collision was at the intersection of US 85 and Happy Canyon Road.

Watkins says the driver of the SUV was 42-year-old Miguel Rodriguez-Padilla of Los Angeles. He was taken to a Littleton hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup was identified as 54-year-old Richard Fell of Sedalia. He was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.

Watkins says investigators don't believe drugs or alcohol were factors.
