DENVER (AP) - All day rail service between Denver and Boulder is still on track -- despite an announcement that service would not run at midday.

Regional Transportation District officials say Burlington Northern Santa Fe is still working on its schedule that would allow passenger trains to run all day. RTD staff worried that service on the shared freight rail lines would have to be halted between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. as the railroad serviced its vehicles and rails.

The cost for the 41-mile Northwest train, which would include service to Longmont, already has jumped to $684 million from an estimate of $565 million in 2004 when voters approved the FasTracks project.
