Radio makes its presence at the convention
|
DENVER - On the floor of the Democratic National Convention hundreds of television and newspaper photographers from around the globe are vying for the best picture, but there is another media largely represented at the convention: radio. ![]() Tucked back from the floor of the Pepsi Center, radio stations from across the country are covering and discussing all the hot topics of the convention. While it is hard to compete with the glitz of television, what they may lack in lights and cameras they make up for in words and actions. TALK AM, NPR, Sirius, even KBCO, a little rock station out of Boulder, are among the radio stations making their presence in the Pepsi Center's Radio Row. They are covering every angle of the convention. The hot topic among talk radio now is a story out of the New York Times: Why McCain needs to have Joe Lieberman as his VP candidate. Radio Row is a place where toes are stepped on but opinions are voiced. Even our own 9NEWS Anchor Gregg Moss contributes to the morning coverage from Radio Row on 850 KOA. While Radio Row may not be on the floor on the Pepsi Center, being in the hall does not keep them away from the action of the convention because the newsmakers just come to them.
