DENVER - Congratulations to Mrs. Suzanne Geimer at George Washington High School. She was chosen as 2011's Most Distinguished Teacher by her school.

Geimer has been at GW since 1971. Some of her students and fellow teachers presented her with a cake and banner to celebrate. She started with only 12 students in 1984 and, now, the rigorous college prep classes have more than 90 students. Many have gone onto Ivy League schools.

Geimer says all the teachers at the school share the credit.

"These are teachers in this program who are enormously dedicated and, as a result, they are the one delivering the product in the trenches everyday making sure these students are getting what they need," Geimer said.

Geimer will be honored at a banquet in May.
