DENVER - If you've ever lost a piece of mail and wondered where it ended up, you might be surprised to learn where 9NEWS found some of it.

When Geina Horton arrived at her acupuncture studio in the Bonnie Brae section of Denver Monday morning, she found 60 pieces of mail sitting on her desk.

Turns out the mail carrier who delivers to the block left the entire block's mail in her office. This might sound like an accident, but Horton says it's the fourth time it has happened since November.

"I'm at 1301 South Clayton and I had, I believe, all the way up to 1380 South Clayton," Horton said.

Horton says the amount of mail she received went beyond just her block this time. Some of the articles included birthday cards, credit card applications, even a paycheck. She's concerned if it got in to the wrong hands, her neighbors could fall victim to identity theft.

"I would never want anyone to get my mail. Who knows what's in it," she said.

The Post Office was apologetic. The post office supervisor told 9NEWS, "We do have a lot of vacancies and the Post Office hasn't been hiring, but that doesn't excuse anyone from not reading the mail correctly."

Horton's block hasn't had a consistent carrier since the fall. The postmaster isn't sure if the carrier who left the mail on Horton's desk did it out of frustration or by accident.

"I just hope it changes and that if anyone has my mail, they give it to me," Horton said.

The postmaster picked up all of the mail from Horton's office Monday morning and delivered it to the correct recipients.
