It took 18 years to reach the statehood, and now, you can see a piece of our state's rich history.

The original Colorado Constitution, which took 87 days to draft, is on temporary display at the History Colorado Center.

The exhibit, "The People of Colorado: Our Constitution.," looks back on Colorado's past and works to engage people in the state's future.

The exhibit was made possible by a partnership with the Secretary of State and LexisNexis. It sits by Legorado in hopes of attracting young kids and getting them interested in how our state was shaped.

The History Colorado Center is located at 1200 Broadway.

It's open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
