The defense is disputing the prosecution's claim that Holmes was banned from the University of Colorado campus as a result of threats that he made.
The defense says these claims "are patently false and misleading."
In a news release Friday, defense attorneys say Holmes "was never banned from campus, and his key card was deactivated after his voluntary withdrawal from the neuroscience program, as it would be for any student."
