The state football playoffs are off and running. Friday's action included the defending 5A champions, Columbine, winning their 1st round game 37-20 over Grand Junction.
Horizon went on the road and hung 47 points on 12th seeded Rangeview. Dustin Rivas scores 3 touchdowns for the Hawks. Horizon won 47-24.
Grandview had no problem with Fairview. The Wolves won 40-6 and will play Fountain Fort Carson next week.
The Mullen Mustangs got a scare from Overland, but the Connor Brady's touchdown with 1:17 left gave Mullen a 25-20 win. The Mustangs will take on Cherokee Trail in round 2.
