Voters in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties chose Republican George Brauchler over Democrat Ethan Feldman on Tuesday.

Brauchler is a prosecutor and former Defense Attorney, who has experience in military law from his Army service.

Feldman is a former judge, prosecutor, and Defense Attorney.
Brauchler will replace the current DA for the 18th judicial district, Carol Chambers, who was subject to term limits.

Holmes, a former University of Colorado-Denver graduate student is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 others during a July 20 attack at an Aurora movie theater.
