What makes it even more impressive: Kim Crawford, who is a junior in high school, is developmentally delayed and only reads at a first-grade level.

Kim joined 9NEWS 8 a.m. to talk about the project, overcoming her disability, and how her inspiration came from her cousin who also earned the Gold Award and has worked for the Peace Corps in Africa.
