Interstate 25 was closed for hours about 7 miles north of Wellington as investigators clean up from the early morning accident that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Fort Collins man.
CSP says the driver of a Dodge pickup truck was going too fast in freezing rain and fog when he lost control of the vehicle.
His passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled several times.
The passenger was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver, 31-year-old Matthew Himberger of Miliken, was wearing his seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries.
CSP says conditions were extremely icy at the time of the crash.
