At 9 a.m., the trooper responded to the crash which occurred on Highway WYO 487.
According to Sergeant Stephen Townsend with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the trooper determined that 63-year-old Steven Richardson was traveling 60 to 65 mph in a 30-mph zone when his vehicle gradually went off the dry roadway on the left side.
The vehicle eventually launched off the approach of Oak Street - going airborne some 76 feet across the street before landing in the garage.
Richardson was transported to a hospital in Rawlins. He was cited for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.
The garage and the vehicle are considered a total loss.
