According to CSP, they were alerted to a driver in a stolen BMW headed
east on I-70 by the Silverthorne Police Department at 9:40 a.m. About
15 minutes later, a trooper identified the stolen vehicle near Idaho
Springs and tried to pull the vehicle over, says CSP.
The BMW did
not stop and continued eastbound on I-70. Colorado State Trooper Nate
Reid says during this pursuit, CSP troopers noticed a Chevy Impala also
seemingly trying to flee from the troopers.
Troopers were pursuing both vehicles at the same time.
According
to Reid, the driver of the Chevy Impala - a female - crashed and fled
on foot in the area of I-70 and Denver West. Shortly after 11 a.m., CSP
tweeted that the suspect was found and arrested.
The BMW was last
seen going eastbound on I-70 near Colfax. Reid says the pursuit was
called off just after 10 a.m. due to increased traffic on the interstate
and safety concerns for the public.
