FORT COLLINS - The men's basketball team at Colorado State University is having a great year - and making history.
Just ask Hal Kinard, who played on the last nationally ranked CSU team all the way back in 1954. Back then, they went by Colorado A&M.
"It was 59 years ago, and it seems so funny now that it'd be that long," Kinard said. "For some reason, we were the last team to be ranked. It's exciting."
"You're just so happy seeing those guys having success," added Kinard.
Students are happy, too.
"This year's been crazy for the Rams," freshman Tommy Champion said.
"The buzz around campus is like, amazing," CSU student Jeff Seroka said.
Tickets for CSU's next home game against New Mexico are already sold out for the general public. But 2,500 student tickets will be available at 8 a.m. Wednesday until they run out.
