GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Mesa County commissioners want more time to analyze proposed changes to roads that crisscross 1 million acres of land in western Colorado.
The commission decided Wednesday to ask the Bureau of Land Management for a 90-day extension of a comment period that ends April 25 on plan to close off a network of roads, trails and routes to provide more conservation and allow more development.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, commissioners want a bigger role in coordinating with the federal government.
