DENVER - Denver International Airport snow-removal crews worked through Sunday night into the early hours of Monday to make sure the runways were open and clear when flights started to depart.
Road crews chemically-treated the airport runways, as well as Pena Boulevard.
The airlines all deiced their planes, which meant passengers were on the plane a little longer before take-off. The airlines reported less than 30 departure and arrival cancellations as of Monday morning. DIA averages 1,700 departures and arrival flights a day.
DIA has more than 250 pieces of snow-removal equipment and approximately 500 trained snow-removal personnel.
